For more than half a century, the Black Sea has been a popular tourist destination, especially among tourists from the former Soviet Union and those from Central Europe. The warm climate during the summer, the salty water, the large beaches with fine sand, the high level of entertainment opportunities made the Black Sea coast a popular vacation destination for tourists .
Limited in-between Capul Midia and Vama Veche the Romanian Littoral zone of the Black Sea extends on 245 km. There are 15 resorts for everyone’s taste and budget.

Mamaia ( The old lady ) is Romanians’ favorite destination for holidays. Situated in the North of Constanta on a strip of land separating the Black Sea from the Siutghiol Lake. Major investments have been made here making it the most “posh” destination on the  Black Sea cost.

Vama Veche, at the southern extremity, at the border with Bulgaria, is the place for fishermen, students concerts and “hippie” atmosphere.

The Black Sea is generally known for tourists who wish to follow medical treatments, there are different balnear resources with mineral waters, therapeutic muds, in modern treatment bases. Eforie Nord and Mangalia are the most famous with the Ana Aslan / Gerovital anti-aging treatments.

The season start at 1st of May and generally ends at 01st of September. The medical bases are also open during off season.
