Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest and Hello Romania 🙂
Arrival in the airport and transfer to the hotel city center. Sightseeing tour of Bucharest including: the Ceausescu's House ( today the Parliament ) the biggest building in Europe, the Unirii Avenue – one meter larger than Champs Elisee, The Victoria Avenue with stop to the Revolution Square, the University Square, the Royal Palace, the presidents' residence in Cotroceni, Dambovita Quay with the beautiful Palace of Justice, the impressive Military Academy, the Village Museum - an open air museum.
Special dinner in a traditional restaurant. Overnight in Bucharest central hotel.
Day 2: Bucharest - Curtea de Arges – Sibiu ( 285 km )
Departure to Sibiu, the European capital of culture in 2007. On the way short stop to visit the Cathedral of Curtea de Arges, which hides the legend of Manole. We continue with the Olt Valley, beautiful road crossing the Carpathians. We can also take the Transfagarasan - the most spectacular mountain road in the world by Top Gear directors ( open only 3 months a year )
Arrival in Sibiu, "the city of the eyes." Traditional dinner and overnight in Sibiu.
Day 3: Sibiu - Biertan - Sighisoara - Bistrita( 250 km )
In the morning visit of Sibiu - Hermannstadt, one of the most important medieval and cultural cities in Romania. In 2007 Sibiu was the European capital of culture, a real open-air museum. Here you will see the Big Square with the Bruckenthal Museum, the first Romanian museum, opened in 1817 and hosting an impressive Art Gallery and the Exhibition of Ethnography and Folk Arts, The Small Square with the Evangelic Cathedral, built in 1520 with its immense Baroque organ designed by a German master in 1671 and the Huet Square, the Passage of Steps, The Iron Bridge etc.
Departure to Sighisoara and on the way stop to visit Biertan, an example characteristic for the fortress-church family, one of the 300 fortified churches built between the 14th and 16th centuries.
Arrival in Sighisoara, one of the best-preserved inhabited fortresses in Europe and also the place where Vlad Tepes was born, in a big house close to the Clock Tower.
Dinner and overnight in Bistrita.
Day 4: Bistrita - Tihuta - Moldovita - Voronet ( 200 km )
After breakfast departure to Bargau Pass, one of the most picturesque landscapes of Romania, that's why this area and the castle were used in the film Dracula by F. Ford Coppola.
Then arrival in Bukovina, called the land of 2000 monasteries. The monasteries Voronet, Sucevita, Moldovita and Humor with their frescoes both inside and outside, each with its own dominant color, were decorated between sec. XV and XVI and are considered masterpieces of Byzantine art, unique in Europe, that's why they are part of UNESCO heritage. Anciently they had a defensive role, and then once decorated with frescoes with religious themes, they became a bible for the illiterate people of the fifteenth century.
First stop is the Moldovita Monastery from 1532 build by Petru Rares, with its dominant color sunny yellow, the biggest of this period. Next you will visit the Sucevita Monastery, the last monument in Stephen's style, the exterior paintings date from 1596 and green is the dominant background color. Nearby we will assist at a demonstration of egg-painting, typical from Bucovina, being invited by an artisan in her own house

Day 5: Voronet - Sucevita – Marginea - Voronet ( 100 km )
In the morning we go to visit the Sucevita fortified monastery which was the last building in the style of Stefan cel Mare, the exterior frescoes dating from 1596 and the green color predominates over all. We continue with the visit of the laboratory of Marginea famous for its black ceramics where real artisans transform black dirt in beautiful pieces.
Then we see the last one and the most beautiful one - the Voronet Monastery, founded in 1488 by the ruler Stephen the Great and named the 'Eastern Sistine Chapel' with its famous 'blue of Voronet'.
In the evening we can have a ride carriage in the woods of Bucovina after which a homemade dinner is waiting for us. Overnight same guesthouse.
Day 6: Voronet - Agapia - Brasov ( 350km )
Departure in the morning direction Brasov. On the way the area of Bicaz where you will admire 2 nature's wonders, Cheile Bicazului ( Bicaz Quay ) and the Red Lake, unique in Romania. Here we will have a stop to buy typical souvenirs from Moldavia.
On the way we visit Agapia Monastery famous for the works of the Romanian painter Nicolae Grigorescu. Also in the area we have the opportunity to visit the Nicolae Popa Ethnography Museum.
Next destination the medieval city of Brasov. Visit of the historical center: The Council Square, the Black Church, the Old quarter Schei, the Caterina Gate that separated the Rumanians from the Saxons in the Austro-Hungarian domination period.
Dinner and overnight in Brasov hotel.
Day 7: Brasov - Bran - Sinaia - Bucharest ( 200 km)
We continue our adventure with the famous Dracula's Castle in Bran built in top of a rock and described by the Queen Maria as a small and pugnacious fortress.
Then we arrive in Sinaia, 'the Pearl of the Carpathians'. Here we will visit Peles Castle the most beautiful summer residence of the Romanian principles starting from the time of king Carol I.
In the evening arrival in Bucharest and walking tour of the historic center of the capital, the "Little Paris of the East". Walking the streets of Lipscani, the historical center, where you can admire the old breweries, antique shops, the old courtyard from the time of Vlad Tepes, the oldest hotel tavern Hanul Manuc, one of the oldest churches in Bucharest - the Stavropoleos church, the CEC Palace - the Savings House.
Farewell dinner in a famous restaurant called Caru cu bere. Overnight in Bucharest central hotel.
Day 8: Bucharest and good bye Romania
Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
